Railynx will elevate the railroad industry’s relevancy as we transition to a more sustainable future.

HOW WE see it

An important tactic in our effort to slow climate change will be to develop and deploy technologies that can perform essential tasks in a more sustainable way. Railynx meets this challenge by expanding the capacity and utility of an existing asset, our railroads, which offer far greater energy and labor efficiency than the dominant alternative.

This new equipment design overcomes many of the key impediments that hinder rail operations and have allowed trucking to dominate freight transportation. Its widespread use would boost the productivity of our railroads and improve the economic productivity and competitiveness of our nation.

Our reliance on heavy trucks is damaging the environment and imposing great cost on society. The U.S. and many other developed countries have extensive rail networks that simply could not be replicated today. Networks that were largely established in the 19th century, before our cities grew up around them. Networks that arguably are not fully utilized or being put to their best use.

Addressing climate change is an urgent matter and since Railynx equipment operates on existing infrastructure, it can be deployed quickly. It will use only a fraction of the energy consumed by trucks to do the same work and the energy it uses will come from renewable sources rather than fossil fuels. By decarbonizing land-based freight transportation, we can take an important step toward a more sustainable future.
